As I was checking the world of twitter this morning, I was caught off guard by some bad news. Our homie DJ Hideo was admitted to the intensive care unit this morning. At the moment he is being cedated and is on a ventilator.
The battle started over a year ago when he checked himself into the emergency room at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. After receiving his test results, Hideo was told that he had Cancer. He went under the knife on Feb. 6th 2009 and then started his journey to fight cancer by undergoing an aggressive chemotherapy regimen.
I don’t know how many times I told myself that I should give him a call, or swing by and visit him to let him know that people that he hasn’t seen in years, are wishing him well and keeping him in our prayers. My hope is that I will still get a chance and Hideo will come out of this okay. I guess I need to take this as a life lesson and not let myself get too busy or too lazy that I neglect life, friends or family.
That pretty much leads us to where we are now. A year after the cancer has taken its toll on his body and has advanced to Stage 4, he is being cedated and is currently on a ventilator; and we are all once again praying for our good friend.
