CAMP SPIN OFF 2010
Congrats to Tina T and the Camp Spin Off crew for such a successful event. They are definately making a positive impact for the kids and the culture. I wish I was a part of this movement.

Grammy-winning rapper Eminem‘s Recovery will reportedly sell up to 615,000 copies in its first-week on store shelves.
Based on one-day estimates, Em will easily go gold after his first seven days.
Offering conclusive proof that Marshall still matters, Eminem’s
aptly named Recovery will score the year’s highest sales debut. Look for a total of between 590-615k for the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope album, easily beating Sade‘s 503k back in February. It could also beat his last album, Relapse, which sold 608k in its first week in May ’09. (Hits Daily Double)
Radio personality DJ Whoo Kid recently predicted Em would out-sell Drake‘s Thank Me Later debut.
“Will Drake sell 500k the first week?”
“predictions — drake —–350-420k first week”
“EMinem —- – 650-700k first week.” (DJ Whoo Kid’s Twitter)
Earlier this month, Fat Joe gave his opinion of Em’s latest effort.
“That sh*t’s crazy,” Joe said in an interview. “That sh*t with him and [Lil] Wayne, [track] number two ['Talkin' 2 Myself']. All that sh*t, man. That n*gga spittin’. Hard…I thought I wasn’t gonna like it, cause n*ggas was sayin’, Yo, it’s rock, and this and that,’ but that sh*t was hard. I was expecting just more regular hip-hop type sh*t. You know what I’m sayin’? It was more like Just Blaze-[produced] rock sh*t…I like that sh*t. A lot. I can’t lie to you…I think he’s back to where he once was…For real. I think lyrically, he’s back to where he was. That’s what I got from the album.” (XXL Mag)
The Shady Records boss’ new album leaked online in early June.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a new kid on the block like Drake or a veteran like Eminem, chances are your new album is bound to leak early at some point. Marshall Mathers
is the latest to fall to the leak plague, as his upcoming Recovery hit the Internet on Monday, two weeks before its June 22 official release date, and spread like wildfire. Fan forums immediately blew up with quick-take reviews on the rapper’s second album in as many years, raving about the many different sounds Slim Shady tries on over the course of the disc. The opening track, “Cold Wind Blows,” finds Em taking aim at some of his favorite targets, viciously daring haters to take him on while dropping references to Elton John, Michael Vick, Aquaman, Michael J. Fox and Mariah Carey before dipping into a sing-songy chorus, “I’m as cold as the cold wind … blows, bla bla bla blows.” (MTV)

I mean to ask this to those who smoke. I can’t believe that people still smoke. That’s so 70′s and 80′s. With the cost going to like $5 a pack and all the information out there about how bad it is, why do people still do it?
Well, I found some of these ads on a site. Hopefully it will sink in… okay, I’m done…

As I was checking the world of twitter this morning, I was caught off guard by some bad news. Our homie DJ Hideo was admitted to the intensive care unit this morning. At the moment he is being cedated and is on a ventilator.
The battle started over a year ago when he checked himself into the emergency room at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. After receiving his test results, Hideo was told that he had Cancer. He went under the knife on Feb. 6th 2009 and then started his journey to fight cancer by undergoing an aggressive chemotherapy regimen.
I don’t know how many times I told myself that I should give him a call, or swing by and visit him to let him know that people that he hasn’t seen in years, are wishing him well and keeping him in our prayers. My hope is that I will still get a chance and Hideo will come out of this okay. I guess I need to take this as a life lesson and not let myself get too busy or too lazy that I neglect life, friends or family.
That pretty much leads us to where we are now. A year after the cancer has taken its toll on his body and has advanced to Stage 4, he is being cedated and is currently on a ventilator; and we are all once again praying for our good friend.
Well folks, we lost another pioneer of Hip-Hop; “One of the best yet.” As the headlines read: Gang Starr Rapper Guru Dead at 43, I can’t help ponder the first time I heard DWYK or Don’t Take It Personal. While first listening to these songs, I asked my friend, “Who is that rapper with the deep voice?” From then on I was hooked.
Much like Busta Rhymes or Rock (aka Tha Rockness Monstah), GURU had such a distinct voice and a talent for stringing together dope lyrics. I was very fortunate to have met this legend when I used to attend Unity (RIP Bigga B) in the 90′s. GURU not only was a legend, but he was equally humble.
One of the other key factors in the success of his career was teaming up with one of the best hip-hop producers (DJ Premier). Together their music will reign supreme in the culture of hip-hop!
Check out a dope article that www.complex.com put together. It’s a beginner’s guide to Guru’s complete discography: http://www.complex.com/blogs/2010/04/20/r-i-p-guru-remember-the-career-of-a-hip-hop-icon/
